FISH OIL & ALGAE OIL

We know that Omega-3 fatty acids are extremely important for our body and our health. They belong to the group of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids. Since our body does not produce them, they must be supplemented through diet.

The most well-known Omega-3 fatty acids are:

eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

FISH OIL

DID YOU KNOW that fish oil typically contains Omega-3 in the ratio of approx. 18% EPA and 12% DHA?

Oceanic fish naturally consist of triglycerides — this is their original form. To achieve higher concentrations, Omega-3 fatty acids must be separated from their natural base — glycerol. During this process, through esterification, EPA and DHA are converted into so-called “ethyl esters.” This form is very different from natural fish oil, which contains glycerol.

Royal Green adds two patented steps, where glycerol is reattached to the concentrated EPA & DHA. As a result, we deliver fish oil in its most natural form.

Studies show that triglyceride-form fish oils are the most bioavailable.

TOCOPHEROLS & TOTOX

To prevent the oxidation of fish oil, we add tocopherols, which serve as antioxidants. We analyze every batch of fish oil for tocopherol content and Totox value. The certified Totox value of Royal Green oil (below 10) is far lower than the EFSA European standard, which allows Totox values up to 25.
